Kim and Danielle's excursion

We continue to be amazed by the warm and welcoming greetings that we receive everywhere we go.
This beautiful lady was a hindu tea picker who was on her way to work. The pickers and workers live on the tea estates in small villages. Some are Hindu and others Muslim.
They are born, raised and die here, never working or living anywhere else.

Debbi and Ralph visited this tea estate on their previous visit to Bangladesh. We enjoyed watching the children look at the book of photographs in which they recognized many of their family members and friends. There were many smiles and giggles!

A colorful shrine in the Hindu village. It was an honor for them to show us this area.

A little girl, no older than 6, was taking her job of tending to the cow very seriously. She used her makeshift hammer, a stick, to tether the cow firmly to the ground.  She will alternate his position several times throughout the day.  The children are all very involved in the daily farming tasks regardless of gender and age.

Kim is still enjoying her bananas and white rice and has even adventured into trying some chicken. Food continue to be very spicy. Peanut butter is still a daily staple but now it is spread on traditional Bangladeshi flatbread and not white bread!

Some hot peppers which are found in many dishes. They even eat them raw!
Kim tricked Danielle into eating a cooked green bean which was a hot pepper. Her face turned red like a tomato!!

We are learning so much here in this beautiful country.

They say we are so beautiful and do not need sugar in our tea because canadians are already so sweet!! AHH!!!
